where did you meet your partner, if any?

I met my wife on-line 20 years ago. We met on a goth teenager/young adult networking site (NOT a dating site). hehe She was 23 and I was 31.

After talking on the phone 10-12 hours a day, and endless chats for about a month, I packed my car and drove roughly 1000 miles to her town, and we've been together pretty much 24/7 ever since. 🔥

1st wife -- 25 years; worked great as long as I was never home. I moved 200 miles away, came down most weekends and he marriage fell apart quickly.

2nd wife -- 15 years. Loved her so much! She caught a virus (not COVID) and was gone in a week

Current girlfriend -- about 2 or 3 months

I'm sorry, man. 😢 My wife was the first girlfriend I ever had, and me her first boyfriend. We aren't technically married, but we call each other husband and wife because it sounds cool. 🙂

I'm glad to hear that

I genuinely can not see myself meeting anyone ever again. It would be financially impossible, too. At the moment because I have no close near living relatives, the State has to meet all of my medical costs and treatments as well as poviding additional care & support. If I had a wife or a 'live in partner' (called a 'Common Law Wife' in the UK) then they would automatically be expected to meet all these costs and also do all of the care & support. And my own financial benefit package would disappear immediately :-(

If you *could* afford it, would you then? I'm just curious.

In answer to your next question, since my divorce (over 15 years ago, now, on health grounds!) there have been a few young ladies who have wanted to get close. Every time I have had to gently push them away and tell them I am just not interested. (not the real reason, last thing I want is their pity)

I'm sorry man. But you gotta do what's right for you!

Thanks. Sometimes you just know what is meant to be and there's no point in thinking otherwise.
